I am frustrated with lack of interest in Laz.
Make me an offer, I am very close to putting it up for auction.

Your last thread about it marks it as under contract and was moved to the "sold" archive. I could not find an active for sale thread.

I, too, couldn't find it when I tried to look at it recently. You might want to re-post the ad.

Did not know that thanks. My other Duke was sold. He originally wanted Laz.
Got talked out of the super modified.

Okay, I'll ask the question; what's a "Laz"?

Posting in top secret BT code won't generate any interest in whatever it is you're selling...

Brief update on Laz.
They guy who bought my other Duke, did flight training in both planes.
Without my permission he started playing with switches and pulling handles an$ damned near pulled the firewall cutoffs out of the plane. That screwed up the left cable and firewall cutoff valve.
Just put carbide lifters on one side. The lycomings were starting to go.
The plane is under 3000tat
Engines 900 one has 200 hrs since bottom overhaul.
Props under 100hrs.
P and I solid 8-9
Boots suck but work. Could last several more years.
Century IV autopilot
Avydyne 540 k garmin 430, adas-b in and out. Garmin 340 audio, kid 58 radar.
Call buddy miller at TrimAir , Mexia tx for details on sqawks 254-562-2857

Your saga I just finished reading (amazing journey btw) was a pleasure to read on how to resurrect a plane, although obviously at an expense not for the faint of heart. Really impressive.

For someone looking for the back-story, this is it as far as I can piece together in this thread... (forgive me if I missed a bunch of stuff, it was a lengthy read).

viewtopic.php?f=3&t=85127&hilit=lazarus+duke&start=495

It looks as if he bought it back in 2014 for resurrection at 100 SMOH (1999) and has put 800 on it in the 3 years since he got it running well? With 900 SMOH L/R and one side 200 since bottom end?

Props got overhauled recently and are 100 L/R SPOH?

Fresh P&I 2014
Dimensions on corrosion with pictures from that paint job which is a good thing to know,,, no corrosion hiding under pretty paint in all likelihood.
Micro VG’s
Working but rough boots (would a good re-seal work for a few years?), hot props, heated windshields, FIKI as far as I can tell?
New rudder & elevator bearings & a retract rod, Uplock cables, flap cables
A/C system and pressurization reworked extensively over about a year
950 Lb Payload with full fuel - 202 gal usable, about 4.5 hours incl taxi and climb out at 65% power (40gph) not including reserve or about 800nm range with IFR reserve?
Prop governor (one side anyway)
Avidyne 540
Transponder - ADS-B
3 new fuel cells
OH’d fuel flow gauge
Carbide lifters on one side

Did I get all that right, Rocky? I'm sure there's a ton of other items but that's what I caught taking notes as I read along just for grins.

She's beautiful. Very tempting, but after the last week I've been fully schooled on the expense a pressurized piston twin is for an individual owner/operator flying ~50 hours a year.

What is not correct was original engine times. My IA goofed up an entry and I thought we started with 100 + hour engines and new props. In reality he had dropped about 600 hrs.
900 and a bit is correct for both. Props around 100.

Yes, seriously.

I've only been on BT for 1.5 years; some of us newer types haven't read every single BT thread and don't know every backstory behind every cryptic post... so yes, I was curious about this mystery Laz thing.

I'm surprised it hasn't sold. Just shows how bad the market is for pressurized twins, if I didn't have my 58 I would jump on it.

Airplane looks great. Insurance market problematic. I can get insurance no problem...care and feeding of a Duke, well, someone will have to get the ex off my balance sheet.

Well.... I sold my wonderful 55 to buy mine. Come on, you can do it too! You’ll be glad you did!
