As I recall, it's about 400lbs/hr per side. I don't have POH here as it's up with the plane.

But NJ to Boca should be doable in favorable conditions. You won't have tons of reserves, so depend on your comfort for that. Good news is the main tank has a separate LOW FUEL measuring probe that's very accurate. It warns when main tank gets below 60gal. I've had that come on a few times in VFR conditions when I was pushing it, and then I know it was time to land.

You can add aux tanks as an upgrade for it - another 100gal - but it kills useful load and not sure it's worth the money on such an old airframe.

I like the choices you have made with the upgrades; Avidyne etc.

Sweet bird!

Hard to pick one, but I'd say the Turbo Commander if you factor in the greater package and ignore the troubles I've had with my mechanic and my finances. They're just pretty good at everything. But the handling - Aerostar, hands down. And for sheer, dirty, bush flying utility and STOL stuff - the Commander 520.

Wine? Adam, you in the wine business now?

Certainly none of my business, but since you didn't say "sold", this is probably not an agreeable move for you. If so, sorry.

Ha, no, it's just that price was for a quick sale and when that didn't materialize and I keep incurring continued costs for repairs, that price isn't tenable any longer. Wine sales are not covering it by any means, but with some reduction in costs etc at least the need for a fire sale is no longer there. She will get ferried back here this fall and tucked away until times or finances change for her to get finished up.

Sorry to be so back and forth on the sale of her, but this has been a rollercoaster few years.

I'm really glad to hear you still have it, especially with this post coming so quickly after your "Don't get screwed by your mortgage company" post. I was worried!

Just an observation on how nuts the aircraft market is right now - here's an ad for a 680V, same model as mine:

https://www.controller.com/listing/for-sale/208798725/1968-commander-680v-turboprop-aircraft

It has the original -43 engines (vs my -1's), much less performance (about 50kts slower) and with extremely weird and virtually unserviceable hydraulic pressurization system. 2000hr TBO vs my 5400hrs. No long range tanks, etc. List goes on. They're asking $395K.

I mean, I doubt they can get that. But if they can get $300K for it, which seems plausible in this frenzied market, then mine should by all metrics be worth at least $400K in comparison.

Less than 2,5 years ago I started this thread and was asking $189K. So market has virtually doubled in less than 2 years... BTW, plane is not for sale, I'm just reflecting on these times. Or let me rephrase that - if you come with a check for $400K she is very likely for sale.. ;)

Alternate perspective:

Adjusted for true inflation, the hypothetical price is similar to your ask…
