Aircraft: 1975 Baron E55
My fellow Beechtalk members, my mission has changed and in early June I purchased a very nice 40’ fiberglass commercial salmon power troller and salmon permit. My new mission now doesn’t require a twin engine aircraft so I am putting the company 75AM baron E55 up for sale. This beautiful Baron N75AM has a very interesting life, as it had only four owners. The person I purchase it from bought it in 1985 from a mid-west broker whom had the baron for 90 days and this broker purchased the baron from the first owner that ordered the plane from Beechcraft and took deliver in January of 1975 off the assembly line. The original purchase order invoice from the factory is included with the log books. Overall, the plane flies very tight and very easy to fly. The auto pilot holds within 40’ for extended periods of time.

When I purchased the baron in February of 2013 one condition of several conditions was it had to have full deice abilities and this aircraft comes with boots with alcohol props and windshield. At the time of my purchase I upgraded the whole avionics panel with a complete avionics stack including a Aspen EDF 1000 Pro and Garmin 750 touch screen gps and back up Garmin 430 WAAS, including a PS Engineering 8000 BT Audio panel and a Garmin GTX 327 transponder all tied together with a new harness and wired speaker plugs to all the seats. The install was completed by Hillsboro Aviation which includes complete blue prints and wire diagrams.

The baron airframe 3135 total time TT and engines have 487.2 SMOH (1992). Props only 35.2 hrs since new. Currently, the baron is hangered at KHIO and is available for inspection and pre-buy. The aircraft upgrade included new Hartzell scimitar props on a low time engine and airframe. It does have damage history with a collapsed left landing gear (1992). Both engines and props were overhauled at that time. I have bore scoped the cylinders within 17 hours of use and didn’t find an discoloration or burnt valves on both engines. (check the drop box link). The Baron E55 just came out of fresh annual on 09/29/17 with no airworthiness issues and received a IFR check and pitot static, altimeter test by Merrill Field Instruments.

If you’re in the market for a very clean and fast E55 Baron and have been looking for a while this very special E55 Baron with boots and recent full glass panel upgrade may be the perfect fit for you. A week ago I flew the company baron down from Anchorage, AK on October 1, 2017 it flew flawlessly. The paint and interior were done in 1992 but shows very little wear, if you check out the video you will agree as this aircraft has always been hangared its whole life. If you have any interest in purchasing this ready to fly low time engine and airframe aircraft or after reviewing on the aircraft documents, pictures and you have additional questions please feel free to call.
Best,

Marvin

Thanks Tom, your correct, she handles like a dream, very responsive, nimble and fast. I believe the first person that physically see the plane will buy it!!
Pictures do it no justice.

Okay, I'll be the tackling dummy and kick the elephant in the room. Why has it not been flying? Only ~35 hours since 2013 (new props) and only ~485 hours since 1992? Seems like a waste of an awesome aircraft.

Cheers,
Brian

Hi Brian,
Thank you for your strong interest in my Baron. I respectfully disagree, As you read in my post, I have recently upgraded my baron, in fact removed all old silver crown Bendix king original radios and harness and vintage radar and vintage loran system and installed a state of the art glass panel and two GPS systems a Garmin 750 moving map and an Garmin 430 wass for a redundancy back up system. I also installed a PS Engineering 8000 BT Audio panel with connecting speaker wires and tray plugs to each seat.

In addition, I replaced dated propellers with Hartzell top props scimitar. I installed $80,000 dollars in upgrades. Frankly I hardly believe these recent upgrade is a waste. I ask in the future if you’re not a serious buyer please refrain from posting questions on this post. This is a very serious business transaction and its not very respectful that you kick up sand when you have no skin in the game.

Since you brought it up lets be fair here. The plane is 42 years old, the total time is 3135 hour total time that is on average 75 hours per year. If I was in the market for an aircraft this is the hours I would be looking for “Low time airframe hours”. As a very wise IA said you can’t turn back a high time airframe. This is still true today and very applicable to this low time baron. This aircraft is a keeper. It’s very hard to find a baron in this pristine condition with these state of the art avionics upgrades.

I don’t believe Brian was insinuating in any way that your investment in this plane was a waste, Marvin.

Perhaps what he meant was that the lack of recent use was a waste in terms of the exceptional capabilities of a fantastic airframe going essentially unused just sitting around.

She’s beautiful. GLWS.

I recall when Marvin's E55 was for sale not long ago and advertised on Controller. It was a very clean E55 that needed modernization which has now been accomplished. Situations change and sometimes the best made plans go awry.... Sorry that you will not be enjoying the results of all your efforts and investment but someone will end up doing so without all the grief of the downtime to make the improvements.

Spending months before finding my current Baron, this is a great airplane, upgraded and for a really good price. Good luck to the seller and to some lucky purchaser.

I looked for the right family wagon for a year, and after giving up I invested all my airplane money and it's tied up for the next 18-24 months.

Than along comes this airplane, and the other E55 for sale on here.

Why must the world be so cruel?!??

Such a good looking plane and at a fair price. I was so close to picking this up when I was looking not long ago. Someone’s going to buy this and get a great airplane. GLWS Marvin!
