Aircraft prices truly are inversely proportional to operating expense. We just had a BT'r buy a 1970 A60 Duke that is in exceptionally good shape with good times for $10k less than the asking for this beautiful Super Cub. It's a Mad, Mad, Mad World!

You are correct, but there is another factor. Airplanes like the Super Cub that have utility and desirability price according to their availability. They wreck Super Cubs in Alaska every day, and while there are new knock-offs around, the classic certified Piper is still one of the few airplanes that appreciate in value.

Nice looking Super Cub. How long have you owned it? Why are you selling it? Can you tell me what was done at the last recover? Copies of the log book entry and 337?

Thanks.
Steve

I can't believe this airplane is still listed as "for sale"

I'm looking at the cost of restoring and recovering my J-3. When I compare it with the cost of this PA-18, I'm wondering why I shouldn't buy this one and sell my Cub.

I'd have a hard time ever selling my Cub.

I was waiting for a gentleman to get here with a trade he had offered. The trade only made it half way here before developing major problems, so I politely declined.

I reduced the price for a cash deal. Of course, when you see it, you may want to offer me more than I'm asking ;)

Oh, great - now we're shilling our own ads.

In another ten or twenty years, I might be interested in this.

I don't believe your Cub has float fittings. Is it difficult to install them in was of purchase?

Thank you,

TN

Hi Tom,

I didn't see your post until now. This Super Cub has never been on floats (which is a good thing). My understand of the fittings is that you can clamp them on or weld them on. As to difficulty, it most likely depends on the experience of the person doing it.

Thanks
