Buying a plane is usually about trusting the seller (as I've read frequently on this and other sites) as well as a good pre-buy.

Feel safe purchasing either of these planes from Rocky. He is a stand-up and extremely knowledgeable guy who is extremely persnickety about his planes as well as his passengers safety.

I've seen his planes (I'm in and out of Tara and Falcon Field a LOT), and have dealt with Rocky and met his family. They fly frequently.

I am not in the market for a Duke, but if I was I'd buy leaning heavily for one of these planes - if for no other reason than the owner and the fact that Dukes are beautiful planes.

Martin

Thanks guys. I appreciate the support. I believe both are good aircraft and a good value.
I am ready to deal in order to afford to rebuild that Lightning.

I am confident enough in these planes to do a lease to buy arrangement. I will think on terms and postem.

It's honest, committed and dedicated aviators like Rocky that make me so happy to be involved in aviation. So impressive to follow the progress of this B60.

I wish I had the guts to buy Lazarus, I've got a feeling I'd be the happiest broke dude in town.

It was out for some avionics testing
But with two aspens and two 540 it might help cooling

Add a couple small cooling fans that install into the glareshield that pull air out of the panel. They double as windshield defoggers. Rocket Engineering installed two in my Duke and they came on with the avionics master.

It can be done. Customer at RFD around 1990 bought a Duke for her husband for his birthday, a used one. She thought it was a pretty plane. He had zero pilot time.

They hired me to train the guy to fly. After 65 hours of dual, including all of the private, multi engine stuff, high altitude stuff, I signed his student pilot certificate for solo flight.

We got to about the long cross country phase of training when he stopped. I think it might have been a medical issue. He was in his late mid 60’s.

We probably could have finished his private multi engine land in another 20 hours. Never saw him again. He did pretty good and we had fun.

So it can be done!

Obviously money was not an issue.
