I have some time in a Rallye. Fun aircraft to fly. I liked the canopy and the stick. I remember not being too fast for a 200HP engine. Landing and takeoff were fun and short. The slats move by themselves and they catch the corner of your eye, so at first it feels weird. It has a high sink rate if you chop the power off, so that is something that needs attention.

Thanks for including the web link to the flight discussion and videos of the lower horsepower (150 hp) Rallye. . It is a very good narrative and videos are indicative of the effectiveness and function of the automatic slat system. The 220 hp shares the narrative with more brut horsepower and utility.

Only thing I can say about this airplane is it must be well built. Years ago a guy at TYS had one of these. He was up training with the flight school owner and when they were about to flair to land a loose screw behind a radio fell out and blocked the control stick and the airplane crashed into the runway and both of them thankfully walked away without injury.
