Aircraft: 2020 Gamebird GB1
Instead of listing this airplane at the other websites, I’d thought I’d list it here to get an honest assessment of this airplane.

For starters, I don’t have to sell the Gamebird. I absolutely love flying this airplane, it is fast (200 KTAS at 20 gallons/hour ROP, which gives over 600 nm range with reserves. Pull the power back, or go much higher, you go slower, but range increases to about 800 nm.) Game advertises 1,000 nm range and a 900 lb useful load, but you basically have to fly LOP to get those numbers (not that there’s anything wrong with that) and my empty weight is above 1,400 lbs, with a 2,200 MGTOW. It is an extremely simple aircraft, easy to fly, but not easy to fly well. There is no autopilot, this is serial number 015, autopilots only available on serial numbers 40 and above.

SPECIFICATIONS:

N80GB
TTAFE 650 hours and increasing as I fly often
Hangared at KVDF, Tampa Executive Airport
GB1 Gamebird is rated at 10+/- Gs, and 2 minutes inverted flight

Lycoming AEIO580-B1A motor rated at 303 hp.
MT Prop MTV-14-B-C/C190-130
81 gallon fuel capacity
1 Garmin G3X 10” display in the rear, 1 Garmin G3X 7” display in the front cockpit
1 Garmin GTR 225 radio with control head in the rear
1 Garmin 345 Transponder with control head in the rear
Analog airspeed and altimeters in both cockpits
1 digital TL-3424 accelerometer
Dual smoke system (I’ve never used)
Warning light panel
Aerobatic entry speed placard
New landing light lenses
New Hooker Harness lap belts and shoulder harnesses
Canopy in excellent condition
Bruce’s canopy cover and engine inlet covers included
2 Aerobatic sights
2 Softie parachutes, one mini, one micro, both current repacks

My airplane is fitted with a Microkit landing height system tied into the intercom system. The sensor is in the left underwing aileron bell rank inspection panel. It is legal for a certified aircraft. See http://www.landingheight.com. The audio starts at 200 agl, and walks you down to 1 foot. It is a tremendous amenity in the landing phase as you cannot see straight ahead in the landing attitude.

The airplane has been exclusively maintained by Cilliers Aviation since I’ve owned it, which is an authorized Game Aero maintenance facility. The airplane just completed a nearly $20K annual maintenance inspection in December 2025. The engine, prop, airframe components are in just as good a shape as the day it rolled out of the factory. I have a bunch of spare parts and tools.

I have owned the airplane since January 2022 and got it with about 220 SNEW. It was the factory demo prior to my ownership, there are many videos of the airplane performing at SunN Fun and Oshkosh. There is damage history, repaired by the factory before I took possession. Details to serious buyers.

The Gamebird only has two glaring deficiencies, IMHO, from an owner/operator perspective:

The first is the OEM battery was very small, and only had 200 CCA. Most owners will tell you that this battery was a problem from the start, and could barely start the engine on its best day. The factory now offers a True Blue battery option (a $10K upgrade), however, EarthX just came out with an FAA STC for the ETX-900 battery, rated at 800 CCA. The EarthX battery and kit is just over $1,000 plus labor. I’m having this install shortly so the new owner doesn’t have to deal with this annoyance.

The second is the electric fuel boost pump. It an Andair PX375-TC. It is made in the UK and the manufacturer has had issues supporting this product. I am in the process of acquiring a spare one included in the sale. What happens often is that if the Gamebird isn’t flown often, the pump can lose its prime. Another annoyance I’m trying to eliminate from the next owner.

Overall, this airplane is a freaking blast to fly. But I’m 70 and will be looking for a traveling airplane. I have flown the Gamebird all over Florida and parts of the Southeast. It’s about the only aerobatic airplane really big guys can fit into. I’m 6’4” and 240 lbs, it’s comfortable for me for about 2-3 hours, then you need to stop anyway.

Pictures below. Serious inquiries only. Eight One Three 786-5100.
