This airplane is still sitting in its hangar in Florida and available for sale.

Its Owner does not fly and is motivated to move it down the line to someone who will.

I made a visit to this one a few months back as seen in the above posts and photo's.

This airplane is a solid one but needs a current Annual inspection. It has been out of annual for a hand full of years if memory serves. The Hartzell's are also out of time and need to have the A.D. complied with through a propeller shop. It will also need an engine driven fuel pump on the right engine due to a fuel leak issue. The lower / forward wing bolt A.D. is also due currently.

There is a shop on the field at Fort Lauderdale airport that is willing to work on the airplane for a ferry permit.

This is a great old airplane that needs a good home and some money spent on it to get it annualed and a small list of squawks taken care of.

If anyone is interested in this one, please PM me for more details.

Thank you,
Gregg :pilot:

What's your best guess of the AMUs to get it flying?

For what it is worth - I went to look at this aircraft and it is a really nice plane. The photos don't do it full justice. What appears to be brown paint in the photos is a nice metallic copper color. The paint is very nice. The interior is also in nice shape. It needs very little. The panel needs to be updated but is in nice condition. Gregg can tell you more but I think the props are the wildcard in getting it flying as they are out of AD. Although the plane has been sitting for about 3 years the owner told me the engines have been run up fairly regularly.

I needed something that was ready to go so I went for N261B. However, if I had some more time and a bit more T Bone expertise (I am brand new to the breed) this would have been a good pick.

This plane was the "baby" of the owner's late husband and it shows.

At least we now know who the new member of the club is...

Yes ... I am about to shed my "lurker" status and hopefully progress toward being a meaningful participant. I certainly did not decide which plane to buy solely on the basis of a web forum, but I must admit this user group was an influential factor.

It's a little intimidating becoming the next caretaker of N261B. Gregg, Chris, and Doug have all worked to make her such a beautiful aircraft.

That's a pretty TwinBo. She'll make someone a nice ride. Congrats John on joining these guys in the twinbo ownership. Its does make it easier in a lot of ways knowing this forum and these people exist to get into these ships.

Isn't there a prop replacement that can be done that removes the AD on these birds?

The D50B in Fort Lauderdale is a great airplane with HUGE potential ! As mentioned above, the props are the "wild card" though. They are out of calendar time, but the airplane can legally be ferried with them in their current condition as I understand it. This airplane also needs the lower, forward wing bolt A.D. complied, also another issue that can be done after it is ferried.
It has great potential and all it takes is someone to step up to the plate, and willing to spend some money to get it back in Annual. I am happy to assist anyone in getting it in ferry-able condition and ferried to their airport if needed. I have already done an inspection on it this past Summer and I ran it up at the hangar it is based at.

This one needs a new home and it IS a worthy and deserving candidate for someone. :peace:

I can give more detail to anyone if interested.
