Was playing with the new weather features in Foreflight and zoomed way out to look at a global view. Saw the attached celestial background for the first time. New with the latest update? Moves when you spin the globe, so I’m assuming they’ve attempted to make the positioning accurate. I’ll leave the expert opinion to Jay Apt on that. Cool touch, mega geek points!

That would be cool -- Earth to Mars in a Baron... :pilot:

I think that's just the background from Google Earth.

Like that but not quite like that. Only 24 humans, in the history of mankind, have seen a view of the full earth like that with their own eyes. Sadly, I don't think any participate on BT.

That seems like a specific velocity....and an interesting thought experiment; a TLI that begins at Earth's surface.
From Houston's latitude and the 780kt "head start", 19120 kts TAS should work for a Hohmann to get into the moon's influence. I think an initial heading of 059 would work better (assuming you want to conserve propellant and avoid those pesky orbital plane changes in your Bonanza)!

My hangar neighbor has and did considerable work on Hubble, I have invited him to join BT recently, stay tuned.

And we can rest assured the Foreflight Performance Plus Intergalactic option will only cost subscribers $1299.99 per year. FltPlan Go will then follow suit and offer the same functionality for FREE.
