Hello. I installed an Aera 660 in my BE33. In the panel.
When I turn on the panel switch, the gps lost the satellite signals. The gps is installed above the radios/vor. If I move the gps 2 inches far off the panel it's work again. I bougth an external antenna and the problem remains. What can i do please.
Thank for your help.

Make sure the external antenna is fully connected.

Yes. It is. In the aera satellites pages i can see the satellites signal. If i turn on the panel switch, those signals desapear. It's a kind of interference.

I've had that happen before on a portable GPS I had sitting on top of the panel. When one of my navcomms was tuned to a certain frequency you could watch the GPS page on the GPS lose all satellites over about 5 seconds. Change the frequency and they would immediately come back. I moved the GPS about 6 inches and all was well. For this reason and the fact that over time you'll want a newer/better GPS I would never mount a portable in the panel.

When I first got my 660 I hooked it up to the remote Garmin gps antenna that I used with my previous portable gps. I then experienced the gps dropping off line problem every time I transmitted on certain frequencies from either of the two radios onboard. Unplugged the remote gps antenna, problem gone.

PS My 660 works fine without an external antenna in all circumstances so far, so good riddance!

So I'd suggest ditching the external antenna and if that doesn't solve the problem then moving the gps away from the radios, radio antenna cables and radio antennas.

One other note is that the King KX155 radios are notorious for generating gps interference that may radiate directly from the front if the unit.
