If an airport is not in Fltplan Go's database use the support@ email address and they add it in a couple of min/hrs. I fly to out of the way airports and have asked them to add 3 and they have very quickly.

I can understand the technical issue with the airport is not an ICAO and therefore doesn't deserve a "K" but it works and when it doesn't simply ask and they will add.

I disagree strenuously with Fltplan Go is dying a slow death. I use it and push it on others!

Stratux for us cheepos is a cheap ADSB-in solution. Works with Fltplan Go very well.

+1. Absolutely love it for filing. Pretty certain it's number 1 in the corporate world. Lot of add on stuff little piston people wouldn't use or need.

Does anyone else have problems downloading maps & plates in FltPlan Go?

The app is clunky but good enough. But downloading is just hopelessly broken for me. It never remembers which states I've selected, many downloads seem to error out, it's very slow compared to downloading the same maps in FF, etc. (For example, right now it's taking 25 minutes just to download the IFR low charts for Southwest US.)

I gave up on using it because I didn't have the patience to go through my download list every time and couldn't be confident all of the data was up to date.

I just updated a large fraction of the low altitude enroute charts and approach plates for the US and Canada for FltPlan Go on my iPad. Took a total of 5 minutes.

The "Update All" command seems to take care of the updates with minimal fuss. Not clear what the issue is with your particular installation.

Yeah, that sure sounds like how it ought to work. But in my case, it'll frequently lose the list of regions I'd turned on for approach plates, for example -- when I go back into that selection interface nothing will be checked.

I'm really puzzled. It's not like I don't know my way around software. And I don't know what could be unique about my "particular installation". It's broken for me on my phone and iPad alike. It's the kind of brokenness that I can't imagine anyone shipping, and yet obviously people use it.

@Matt, try deleting and reinstalling. I've had some issues, they have always been fixed by deletion and reinstall.

I was having problems downloading procedures on android version. I cleared the cache for the application and then they started downloading OK. The cache setting was not within the application - I finally found it in the settings portion of the android tablet. Had to go to application manager within the android settings and then find fltplango application. When I opened up the info on the application I found the clear cache button and that seemed to get the downloads working again.

Monthly updates are now much easier. Single button update now.

We've found a bug in the density calculator in FltPlan Go (using an iPhone). When the temperature or altitude is typed in, the density altitude is calculated. When the barometric pressure is input, the density altitude is not recalculated, even after tapping the "Done" icon. The temperature must be reentered, even if it's the same value.

We submitted this to support@fltplan.com; their response:
"Thank you for the suggestion.
We’ve had no reports of pilots getting miscalculation.
I’ll add a note to the programmers list to see if this can be modified."

So, if anyone can duplicate this and would be willing to submit a report to them ("Settings" from the menu on the left hand side, then "Support" from the upper right), perhaps that might "move the needle".

Thanks.

They respond very quickly. I've never found a need to "move the needle". How long ago did you report the bug?

Hi Debbie,

We did receive a report of this problem. We already had a release on the Apple Store so the fix will be in the release following. Feel free to report directly to our Support Department for faster resolution of problems.

Thank you.

Hi Denise,

Has there been any action on fixing the opacity level of the SIGMETS menu? Regardless of where I set it, it always reverts to full right opacity. I would like it to remain at the opacity I choose until I choose to select a different opacity.

This is extremely annoying each time I open the Map page and have to immediately go about to reset the opacity settings so that I can see what I want to see in the Maps page.

Thanks for any expediting you can do to resolve this nagging issue which has been bugging me for coming up on a year this December.

I will PM you as well.

Mike

Mike,

We are adding an Opacity lock to SIGMETs per your request, however, the new design to the Downloads section took priority. It will be added in the next few releases.

Thank you for pointing out the reset behavior.
