Hey friends,

I'm Pete Malone from SE Missouri and still grinding away at it after 32 yrs. I operate two cropdusters and fly one of them myself . At 1500 hrs TT I was in a Beech 18 flying on a scheduled route 5 nights/week. At that time , I never thought I would want to own one but I guess things change. My wife and I bought a D-18s about a year ago.
My interests are sailing and air racing my Radial Rocket at Reno.
Looks Like I joined a good crowd..

Best,

Pete

Thanks for asking John.
It's a '46 model thats never been a freighter . I bought it last Nov. in Madison WI from a fellow who had owned it for 20+ yrs that took excellent mechanical care of it. (Black Hawk maintained it) . It's had a fairly easy life with only 8000 airframe hours
My wife and I had been doing most of our traveling in my Radial Rocket , which doesn't have the most roomy back seat or room to take our daughters along.
Funny thing is , my wife is the one who got me to considering a Beech (she loves it).
The plans now are to take it in for a strip, buff, and polish with factory striping.

Now let's see if I'm smart enough to attach a photo..

Welcome Peter! That's a beautiful 18 but it must be out of oil. There are no drips or pans under it!

That's exactly what I said when I saw it for the first time.
I think the previous owner , Don , trained it not to leak .
I'll tell you she's forgotten her training .

Should have a caution sign for readers that gasp with envy!

Cousins east of Ava, I need to get there.

Thanks a lot Mark,
She's not a 10 , but I appreciate it
It's going to the paint shop Early Jan for a good stripping and polish.

Thanks Drew. I can tell you one thing about it for sure. It burns less than half the fuel and runs 35 kts faster than the beech BUT only carrying one uncomfortable pax

Welcome to BT, Pete! That's a gorgeous Beech 18 and a clean hangar to boot!
