Aircraft: Baron 58

Greetings to all ... great forum that we hope to use more. Our operation is relatively new (few years) to the Baron family, but we've gone all out and have an FAA-approved BE58 sim (AATD) plus a BE58 w/ADS-B. The combination sim/aircraft is working great for initial, recurrent, ATP, MEI training and checkrides ... we'd love to hear feedback from folks with similar experience via email at info@flightgest.com.

I'll get photos collected this week to post. Until then, a few notes on what we've learned so far:
- The Baron Sim (Redbird AATD) has been a great tool. Based on examiner and FAA feedback, our students are knocking it out of the park. Each student does a few hours in the sim of aborted takeoffs, diverse SE ops, IMC SE/ME ops to minimums, steep turns ... not to mention a bunch of Vmc demos. Before they get in the aircraft, they've basically done the entire PTS.
- Next step is some hangar/chair-flying. An in-depth walk-around with our IA, including deploying the gear by hand while it's on jacks so they can stop/see what's really going on.
- Then they fly the real-deal. We have a 1976 BE58 and have done quite a bit of work to it including adding WAAS, ADS-B and had the props dynamically balanced. Awesome aircraft.
So far, it's worked like a champ and the FAA/examiners love the program. To share a recent data point, the most recent ATP candidate flew two sim sessions + two flights ... and then passed his ATP.
