Hello guys and gals! Ive enjoyed lurking and reading a lot of BT forums figured I should say hi and tell you little about myself.

I am from southwestern PA the greater pittsburgh area. Ive been working on my pilots ratings the past couple of years as I attended CCAC. Degrees in Aviation Technology and Aviation Management. All my flight training has been out of KAGC at PFTC (Pittsburgh Flight Training Center) I'm currently a PPL ASEL IR w/ high performance and complex endorsements. I have about 40 more hours to finish my CPL. I plan to continue on to get my AMEL, CFI, & CFII. I am also looking into the option of getting an A&P from PIA (Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics).

I look forward to meeting and learning a lot from the members here.

Welcome Ben - keep up the flying and the training - I am from Sharon, Pa just NW of you but I got to Texas as soon as I could. Only 81F down here today.

Brett: You are actually really close to me I actually live in Greensburg so its a 10 min ride to KLBE. Yes my goal is to start a career in aviation. I was in management/sales for about 10 years and decided I wanted to do something I loved instead. I know I still have a long hard road ahead but looking forward to it. Are you with L.J. Aviation or Vee Neal Aviation?

Ken: I can understand your move. Its actually pretty warm today @ 40F lol. Winters in PA make training a little difficult especially when I have to schedule almost 2 months out lol.

Neither. I fly for a family out of Wilmington, De but I live in Mt. Pleasant and base my little airplane at Latrobe.

Like you I started in a career far from aviation (accounting) but a few years of that was enough. Also like you I got all my ratings with exception of the MEL locally within a year. Then opened my own flight school at Connellsville airport. Haha........yep Connellsville. We were the busiest private flight school in the area at the time. 1998 & 1999 Good times.

Anyhow, good luck to you. Again I'd be happy to help anyway I can. I do have a few contacts in the area if you are headed down the corporate road but even the charter folks I know are going to want at least 800 hours before they'll consider you. The great thing for you is that pilots are going to be in HIGH demand pretty quick. The jobs are already opening up again and each year it's going to get better and better for us. You are doing this at the right time. Keep working towards the ratings and then start flying whatever whenever you can.

Thank you. I really appreciate you offering a helping hand. I will definitely shoot you an email also would enjoy hearing more about your experiences. I am headed in the corporate / charter direction. I'm getting a little old to be thinking of pushing for the airlines lol. Once again I appreciate your assistance greatly.
