Hello all,
Just joined the forum as I have a interest in learning more about Beech Bonanzas. I am 50 yr old student pilot, half way to my PPL out of Howell MI, training in a C172. I have a couple of friends who have had Bonanzas and was fortunate to catch a trip or two with them. Quality planes! Long term goal is to own a plane and this forum appears to have some great information from real knowledgable folks about the costs and pros and cons of different planes as compared to what I currently think is my preference in a Beech 33 Deb.

I plan to read alot and learn from you folks before investing in the future. Might even change my mind a few times in terms of what to buy as I learn more. If there are any other members in my area it would be good to get to know you and talk planes. Looking forward to the discussions.

Gary,

Welcome to BT. Make sure to post pics when you hit milestones on the way to your license.
In terms of planes, we will gladly help you spend your money. Just tell us what you think you will do with the plane. But be aware, most people have changes in the mission from what the think they will use a plane for to what the plane is actually used for.

Tim

Hi Gary!
I got my PPL at Howell in a C-152 in 2008. Nice airport for learning. What a great, fun endeavor, to learn to fly! Hope you enjoy and savor every minute!

Hello again.. Heres an update on the flight training. Did my first solo this morning. Everything went well even with a crosswind for the landings. Now it is a night cross country and solo work before the check ride. Lots of fun. Here is a pic of the first solo. I know it is not a Bo but we have to start in something and work up to the ultimate ride.

Gary,

Glad you are making it to the next stages. Make sure to keep the pics; they will be great memories and encouragement later when you hit a tough challenge. I did not take enough pics (still do not).

Tim

Congratulations Gary!
Keep things rolling. Concentrate on getting your private certificate and then "the sky is the limit". You might even consider getting a new rating every year or two. Keep it fun.
Fly Safe!

Congratulations!
Fond memories.
I think you will find most pilots here have some Cessna time in their logs....
I know I do.
Congrats!

Welcome Gary,

After my PPL I rentef lots of different planes.
Flew a Bonanza and began saving right away for the V-Tail I own now.
Nothing compares to a Bonanza.

Good luck with your training
