My first experience in a Bonanza was flying a 1950 B35 from Oregon to Rhode Island, and it was amazing! I look forward to learning more about how to maintain a polished vintage V-tail.

Welcome, Vicky.

Share some info with us. We like photos of planes. (Hey, we're easy when it comes to Bonanzas and Barons).

What are you using to polish the plane now? There are some folks here who have honed polishing to a fine art.

Hang around. Lots of knowledge here, and it's a fun place for hangar flying.

I have been researching different techniques and products, but would really like to hear what people who have tried different methods recommend. So, in the meantime, I have been using only distilled water to wipe off the bugs after each day of flying. I am open to ideas...

Beautiful plane, and I'm glad I don't have to polish it! :bugeye:

We will await the arrival of the elbow-grease brigade.

Wow weeee............that's a beauty!

I am just starting to dabble with the polishing. With a nice finish like you have I would go straight to the cyclo polisher. The Cyclo won't leave swirl marks. It looks like all you need to do is maintain your finish. I would be careful not to use anything too abrasive. You could probably just maintain yours with Nuvite grade S.

I have a 120 that hasn't been polished in 8 years. I need a more aggressive polish on some areas of my plane. I will probably need to start with an orbital and work up to the cyclo polisher.

Others here are more experienced an likely have more specific advice.

Robert

Vicky,

Welcome to BT. That is a very pretty plane.
In terms of bug wiping, there have been a few threads about it. Personally I just wait for it to rain. :D

Vicky,

What a beautiful plane! It obviously shows the loving care that someone took to keep it so clean and well polished. Cool that you are color coordinated in the pic! :)
