Very first GA airplane I ever got to ride in was a staggerwing with a Jacobs in it 25-28 years ago
Second plane was a Stearman.
Both planes owned by a friend of mine
The jake powered staggerwing was sold not too long after it was purchased
The Stearman is still in the hangar I helped put a new engine on it last year and 3 years ago my buddy bought a D17S
I help work on them both
Got my license 20 years ago at a crop dusting field.
With many many hours of time in the Stearman I finally got my hi performance endorcement 2 years ago so I can log my time in the Stearman.
I have almost 200 hours and all landings logged are in taildraggers
I love classic planes.
My hope is to one day find a Stinson SR or SM of my own to hang out with the Staggerwing and Stearman and in the mean time learn as much and help keep the Staggerwing and Stearman flying as long possible.
I'm in northern Indiana near South Bend/Elkhart home base is 3C1
I'm also a Ham operator and operate a railroad speeder as another hobby
I have an old Alpha November navigation tower from Bendix Field in my back yard that I use as my Ham antenna.
