After several months of reading, learning from, and enjoying numerous threads on BT, it’s probably well past time for me to join in and introduce myself and especially our magic carpet. Seven-Tango-Golf is a 1980 model B55 and is not only the culmination of a 30-year dream of mine but also the result of a 4-year search for exactly the Baron my wife and I wanted. It is also our 50th wedding anniversary present from us to us. Although 7TG not our first twin, it is our first Beechcraft in our 35 years of aircraft ownership. Now I understand why Beech owners are so loyal to their planes, as I have become. What a machine!

Window replacement is awaiting Jim Klug’s next swing through Texas. Positive posts on BT about Jim’s work were instrumental in my contacting him about replacing our windows. Also in our plan is installation of a new interior and possibly a GDL88 based on the pireps from BT members. Thanks for a great site!

Welcome aboard George! Beautiful looking B55. Looks like it just left the factory a few months ago. How many hrs on the airframe/engines?

2300 on the airframe, 800 and 1200 on the engines.

Whoops, I clicked on Submit too quick--sorry about that. Thanks for your two thumbs up Bill. What you can't see in the photos are the factory windows that are way past replacement. The windshield was replaced on '05 but is badly scratched, so Jim will be replacing it too. The interior is 1980-Wichita but is in unbelievably good condition for its 33 years. Carpets were also replaced in '05 when the new Jaguar paint scheme went on.

Welcome George. Beautiful Baron! Glad you saw the light, and congratulations to you and the missus for 50 years too!

I'll tell you what, I'm amazed at the number of Texas folks I'm meeting and hearing from around the Beechcraft community. Must be something in the water out there that gives Texans good airplane sense!

Welcome, George!

That's a fine looking ride. You should bring that to one of the regular Texas BT get togethers.

Our thanks to y'all. Randy, maybe the reason for so many Beech folks in Texas is the wide open spaces that can be flown over in style with a Beechcraft. Actually, it took me quite a while to get a Beech, but it sure was worth the wait. With its six seats, my wife calls Seven-Tango-Golf her mini-airliner, and it rides like one even in the summer turbulence.

Welcome George!
Way to make an entrance. Great looking plane.
Congrats on your anniversary.
Wise present!

Black thingy is in fact a mic. I like redundancy. Plus with the wheels on terra firma at home field, I'm on the mic and cabin speaker.

So I can hear the engines and other generators of sounds through startup, taxi, and pre-departure checkout. If something sounds amiss, I can take whatever action is necessary, including aborting the flight. With my headset on, I may miss hearing something that I really need to hear...or not hear if that's the case. Been there once and missed hearing something that was telling me not to go. I don't want an instant replay.

Point two: A headset on the ground in bright sun and 100+ heat gets more than just uncomfortable within mere seconds.
