Just a quick hello. New member out of Mobile, Alabama.

AP/Avionics tech since joining the Corps in '76, GA since '86.

Looking forward to searching for large tidbits of Beech Lore.

If you have any autopilot questions, gimme a shout. Don't
know how good I'll do ya, but I can try.

Jerry,

Welcome to BT. It will be nice to have someone who understands George since he remains a mystery to most of us.

Welcome, welcome! I was wishing that someone like you was available to answer a question about my STEC-50, just last week. But I solved it myself

OK, question:

My S-Tec 30 works pretty well, but sometimes lags, especially in bumpy weather or when it's coupled to a localizer (high sensitivity). I know it's rate-based and won't be as smooth as, say, a Century 2000, but is there a gain adjustment to make its responses a little "stronger," so to speak?

Well since you asked I have a question. It has happened the last two flights. I have a KFC150. With a KC 192. Normally it stays dead on track. But on the last two RNAV approaches, with the approach button engaged, the plane gradually strayed about 2 1/2 out of the 5 marks on the 525 to the right. Both times it was before the FAF and it came back in to center gradually. It has never been that far off track on the approach. It happened on the last two approaches I did.

Wondering if there are any simple things I can do to check it.

Thanks Russ
