Hello, everyone. I have been enjoying the various forums for a while now, waiting to make my introduction while shopping for my first Bonanza. Well, the waiting and shopping are over...went to contract today on a 1995 A36. We're hoping to close the deal next Friday. I'll post a few pics as soon as we get things buttoned up.
As for me, I am instrument rated and have a few hours of commercial training under my belt...about 450 hours in total. I accumulated most of those in a Cherokee 235 a few years ago. I haven't flown at all for the last 6 or 7 years, so I know all of my skills are rusty and that I need to find a BPPP instructor to help me get back up to speed.
I would like to engage an instructor to come to Des Moines for a full week of training either the week of April 8th or April 22nd. If anyone can make a recommendation or is interested in doing something like this, please let me know.
Looking forward to being part of the gang.
Regards, Gregg Treadway

Hello fellow Iowan! Welcome to BT., Good luck with your new bird. You are now equally afflicted and addicted. There are several BT' ers based at DSM, if that's where you are. I regularly fly in there for lunch or dinner. In fact, planning to do that today if/when this LIFR fog lifts.

Welcome. Are you at IKV? We are over on the south side of DSM in what was known as Hangar 34. Fellow BTer Bill Van Lent and I hangar together there. Come over and say hi sometime. We are there most weekends around 8:00ish for coffee. We tend to stick to the following schedule: 8:00-8:15am Federal Deficit, Obama; 8:15-8:30am Gun control, with some Religion sprinkled in; 8:30-9:00am Debriefing of the dumb things we did on our last trips; 9:00-9:30am Go over upcoming trips and how to try to not do something dumb. Adjourn Would like to see that new bird.
