I started flying in 1968 when I was 19 years old. I flew off and on over the years. I owned a 1987 F33A for a while and sold it. Kicked myself for that decision for 15 years. I finally bought a 1989 F33A 360TT cream puff in 2008. I added some new avionics: TAS610, GMX-200, two GNS-430W, GTX-327, and an EDM-800. I fly about 50 hours per year and I will probably hit 500 hours this year. I still fly VFR. Though I'm a dedicated fair weather flyer, I'm considering AFT Center in Long Beach for the IFR. I fly mostly Northern California airports, primarily Truckee, Concord, and Columbia. I do an occasional trip to Washington State and St. George, Utah. One of my most memorable flights was a round trip last August from Columbia, California to Aj Eisenberg Airport, Oak Harbor, Whidbey Island in the San Juan Islands. I treat flying with the utmost respect. I am a humble student of aviation and I view flying as a discipline first and foremost.

Welcome to the forum, John. Nice shot of the Bo. Great attitude toward flying, BTW.

Welcome to BT John, Cool shot of your plane. So..... About that Instrument rating.... ???? You made the hardest, first step: you already have a wonderful IFR plane.

Welcome. Nice plane. You have a plane crying for you to get your instrument rating. Your plane is a serious trip plane and keeping things VFR can be a problem. Besides, just the marine layer alone will cut into VFR flying in California.

Hi John, Wow, that is a saaa-weeeeeeeet F33. I love the in-flight pictures. Humina-humina-humina I'm also a VFR guy, right around 300 hours for me. Although I am planning on IR in the near future. If you are looking for excuses to fly, you'll want to check this thread ( http://www.beechtalk.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=53252) to see what your NorCal Beech Bros are up to. Start at the end (page 46 as of this morning) to see the most recent posts and destinations. Welcome!

Thanks Eric. That's a nice looking Deb. And thanks for the thread to the Northern California group. I'll follow it.

Welcome aboard John! That is a mean shot of your plane and what stands out is the nose doors are fully closed. No "Beech smile," so to speak, congrats on that too! What a great shot!
