Greetings All! I am new to Beechcraft as I am currently familiarizing myself with my newly acquired 1975 Bonanza F33A. (N84MD) I'm also completing my instrument rating at the same time with a consumate Beechcraft pilot (Graham Moore).
Thus far I have noted that the Bonanza is a phenominal aircraft and Bonanza owners are not just unique but a cut above in the aircraft world. I have received lots of tips and tricks from other owners and everyone is always excited to share their Bonanza stories. I have especially appreciated reading the various advice and information available here on Beechtalk.
So, I thought I'd take a minute to introduce myself and my aircraft.
I am a 32 year old active duty military officer stationed in North Carolina. I started flying in 1998 at 18 but as often happens time and money were in short supply until last year when I finally got my PPL (May 2011). Shortly thereafter I began working with a dedicated team of instructors and other local aviation enthusiasts to start a flight school at our local airports (KHRJ and KTTA) which I currently help administer in my "spare" time.
N84MD is a '75 model F33A with beautiful detailing. The previous owner did an amazing job of caring for and updating the aircraft. Included in the panel is the Aspen EFD1000 Pro, which I absolutely love. Everything in the interior is leather including the headliner(no plastic), and G&D tinted window innerpanes help keep things cool and quiet. I have, thus far, enjoyed the vastly improved performance over my Cherokee 140 and was able to use the plane to fly home to MN. Handling and performance are everything everyone said a Bonanza would be. I have had the privlidge of flying many of the "new" types of four place singles out there (Columbia, Cirrus, Diamond, etc.) I have yet to find anything that performs better or more economically than the Bonanza. Will add pics if I can figure out how.
I'm looking forward to many enjoyable hours with 4MD and many hours spent on Beechtalk, hangar flying with all of the experienced Bonanza owners.
Fly Safe

Welcome to BT. You have great credentials. Pictures need to be 6-700K or less for uploading.

Daniel, What is your home drome? I fly down to KBUY quite often and have come to realize that NC is one of the most friendly aviation states I have come across. The state puts out special give away sectionals and I picked up a nifty airport directory about 6 months ago...all free to pilots. You will come to realize some of the zany BT characters that lurk in those Carolina woods around you.....truly wish I lived closer. By the way...nice plane and nice panel!!

I used the free provided charts and AFD until I got ForeFlight. Still keep them as a back up just in case. Lots of interesting aviation destinations either in NC or within easy reach for the BO. I am based at KHRJ or KTTA. School is based at KTTA but KHRJ is closer to where I live so that's where I park the BO. Just went into KBUY a few weeks back. Nice facility! If you come back down this way before February, let me know.
