Hi,
I am Rob Lasky. In a failed quest to own a Cessna 337, my wife finally trumped me and we are in an agreement of a Baron 55. I am just about ready to do a pre-buy on N91D located in Olathe, Ks but, I am waiting a small increase in financing and my mech is doing an annual on a bank repo "B" model that has awesome avionics and if it fits my "turn key" and go criteria, it's 30K less than N91D...we'll see.
The Skymaster is very close to my heart as I have over 3000 hours in them flying in Iraq as a DOD contractor for the last seven years but, they are a niche aircraft not nearly the same amount of spare parts as a Baron. Nonetheless, the crap the 337 has withstood in Iraq and maintaining its solid platform is just phenominal...thus my initial attempt to own.
Anyway, hope to learn more about the Baron via this network.

Allot has happened since my last post. Unfortunately, the Baron didn't make the cut; like the skymaster. So, I had to regroup from two very expensive failed pre-buys, but had it not been for my mech, could have been much worse.
I finished my Master's in Aviation Safety back in Dec 2011. And now, as a proby I work for the FAA at the Orlando FSDO; I am back in the hunt. With very sound and great advise from many, I have set my goals on an A-36.
I have a couple in my sights, but unfortuantely, I can not gallop the country at will any longer and if the 36 is still available when I get to the part of the country, having some great insight now, I can do a pre-pre buy and it that looks good, bring my mech in.

Welocme Rob! It sounds as though you are flexible on the type of aircraft you want? Glad to hear you are being cautious.
