Is there anyone in the Kansas City area that would be interested in showing me a V35 or A36? I'm interested in them, but also in a Navion (it's what I grew up flying and I know I like them, just a little slower than the Bonanza). If I buy a Navion it will be one with a bigger engine which does help the speed some.
I would also be interested in how people are owning their "antique" planes in Kansas (KS has a property tax exemption for 30 year old planes).
As far as mission or reason to buy, I don't really have one other than I want one and can afford it, so why not? I do think my wife would prefer forward facing seats, I'm assuming I could use just the forward facing seats in an A36 and the CG would be ok.
Thanks for any and all help. Rich

Thanks for any and all help. Rich Rich I moved from KC a few years ago i still fly my plane there every year to have the annual. I think that Charlie Fairbanks is one of the best shops in the country. At OJC Brian Taylor with Heartland Airplanes has bonanzas for sale and he uses the same AP that i do. 913-829-4900 i am sure would be more than happy to show you how great a plane there are ( tell him owner in Atlanta of 6688E told you to call). I have had mine for 7 years and it has been trouble free, fast, and the worlds sexiest planes there is. If you use your plane for business you dont pay any property tax in KS either. Any Questions let me know. I have a lot of time in an a36 and v35 bought the v35 faster, more like a sports car than a suv. If it is just you and your wife i would suggest the throw over yoke. My wife loves all the room in the front. Dan

Thanks for the info so far.
In response...
At this point I'm not considering a twin.
I know that KS has an exemption for business use, but I'd have to "make up" a business for the plane and I'm not comfortable doing that, I'd prefer the "easier" exemption at this time - that is unless someone can make me comfortable with the business exemption. Everything I've heard about it so far just isn't for me.
Brian Taylor is at KOJC which is the airport I'm currently flying out of, I'll stop by and talk to him soon.
I'd still love to hear from anyone in KS that has dealt with either setting up a business or using the antique exemption. I'd also like to confirm that the property tax is around 3.5% of hull value, which is what I've learned so far - enough to know I don't want to pay it if at all possible.
Thanks all, Rich

Richard, I'm in Kansas City and would be happy to show you my V35A. We also have an exceptional P model in the family. We are all about Bonanzas and would be happy to help you in any way possible. I previously had a V35 and now have a V35A. Check your PMs. I'll send you my cell number. I just have one request. After you go for a ride, you are going to want one. I mean really, really want one. Don't blame me, I didn't design the #*%$ thing. Robert

It's a love affair with what you get. I'm with Jason on the A36, but plenty of guys love the "little" V tails. Sorry, just had to say that. It depends on your mission. I love six seats in the A36 and with a big family use them often. ...I know, plenty of the 6000+ V's still flying have six seats...but no double doors...just stirring it up...
