Hi, all... from the interior of British Columbia!

Just recently found this amazing site! What a wealth of info!!! Comm/Multi/IFR, but I've never flown a Beech, or even *in* one! Of course, universally heard "nothing flies like a Beech" but bcz of the (perceived?) price premium, never dreamed I'd ever OWN one, so I know basically nothing about them. Been reading on here lots over the past week, and increased my knowledge of the line a hundred-fold! Now, there seems a very real possibility of pulling the trigger for my first a/c, and from what I'm reading here, I think I'll try to squeeze a little extra $$ and go for a Beech product.

BUT... selection here in the Great White North is *extremely* limited, and if you guys think looking and buying across state lines is tough, try an international border! There's a full Cessna authorized service center right on my home field, but I don't know of any Beech experts anywhere around.

I do know that lite twins scare the terd outta me (and the fatality stats seem to support my fears!) so I think I'd rather a competent single that can handle the tall sharp rocks and deep water around these parts. A nicely-equipped Bonanza sounds like it would fit the bill nicely. I'm learning lots, and enjoying the posts immensely! THANK YOU to all who generously share their experiences - good, bad or otherwise. All of us readers (and our families!) benefit more than you could know in terms of $$, confidence, and of course SAFETY! A million thanks to all contributors! I hope to join the ranks of proud owners very soon...

'Greg.

Welcome, Greg.

If your flying plans include IFR in mountains, I'd strongly recommend one of the Barons with either TKS or boot ice protection. They are ridiculously cheap these days and if you can control your animal urges to fly balls to the wall, the earlier models can be flown without a huge gas bill.

I presume you've seen the extended discussions here about twin operations. :deadhorse: :deadhorse:

Welcome Greg. My daughter and husband just moved to Victoria, BC this past summer since she got a job up there. I have never flown in that area but it is now on my bucket list! I’m sure the flying up there is gorgeous.
