Hello,

I am a new pilot located in Michigan interested in networking and learning. As of right now I am PPL VFR with a complex endorsement and working on an IFR rating. I currently do not fly Beechcraft planes but want to get some experience in them someday. Right now I fly all Piper products (Arrow, Archer, Warrior). If anyone would like to chat or meet up my local field is KPTK (Pontiac Airport in southeastern Michigan).

Jon,
Welcome to BeechTalk.

As luck would have it, I believe there are at least a couple Bonanzas and their pilots that reside at your airport, and I wouldn't be surprised if you end up doing a Bonanza rida-along to check out how they fly.

Hi Jon,

I rent from Flight 101 at the north end of PTK. Welcome to BeechTalk!

Welcome Jon,

I am based at PTK and you are welcome to join me anytime. Are you training with Ilya?

Jon

Wow, this has been a productive post on the forum :)

Yes, I am training with Ilya. I was going to fly with right now actually but the visibility got a little bit lower than expected today. He's a really good instructor and has helped me through every difficult challenge that the training might involve. I was training in Ann Arbor after I graduated college but I had a terrible instructor at U of M Flyers. The guy never showed up (even though I rented the plane) and when he did show I think he was more concerned about getting hours and working towards his own goals.

As for meeting up, I will be very busy over the next month. Next week I am headed off to Vegas for a business trip and then I will be on the final leg to get married in the middle of next month. After that I will be closing on a home in Florida. Yikes, busy busy busy. However, once things settle down a bit more and I have some time I would love to get together and fly/hangout. If you ever need anything or need a hand at the airport just let me know. I there just about every weekday.
