Roger, That's a real shame, having the nose gear collapse. It will probably be expensive, but when you finish repairing it, you're be good to go. If you had a prop strike, which is likely you will have to tear the engine down and inspect the crank. If you have a fairly high time engine, an overhaul with a fact reman might be in order to get a new crank and case. The 520 in a J is a rocket ship, as you have probably figured out. If the breaker popped, there was something that caused enough binding to make that happen, and more than likely a rod end failure . . . maybe. May have been a bent rod. Here's a schematic of it: (from Baron manual, but very similar) Attachment: RodEnds.jpg There's also a shear pin that needs replacement that's between A and B that can wear. Keep us posted, perhaps the group can make suggestions and help with parts, etc.

POH states "After emergency gear extension, do not move any landing gear controls or reset any switches or circuit breakers until airplane is on jacks as failure may have been in the gear up circuit and gear might retract on ground."
