I presently own a C-182 and I am interested in up grading to a A36 or F33. I am doing a lot of reseach to determine which aircraft is best suited to my needs. I had a short flight in a 94 turbo A36 this weekend, my first in a Bonanza and now I know why once you fly in a Bonanza nothing else will do. I hope to do a lot of diging on this site to learn as much as possible before making up my mind on the model and plane to purchase.

Welcome, Gary.

You will make a good choice when you buy any of the Bonanza models. We will gladly help you spend your money.

It would be nice if you would put your location in the information section with your name. It really helps a lot when you post certain kinds of questions.

Have fun with your search.

Gary,

Welcome.....

Also, post your mission, when you go, loads, common trips and a ballpark budget. We want to know if you're in a stripped down E series or a knock your socks off G36 with a TN.

Thanks for the replies, I live in the Vancouver, B.C., Canada area and I also own a home in San Tan Valley, AZ which is S.E. of Phoenix. I have flown mostly in Western Canada and as far North as Inuvik NWT (approx.50 miles S. of the Arctic Ocean). I flew my C182 down to AZ in October to stay for the winter. Great flight but a little slow, I have the need for speed along with comfort and the Bonanza fits the bill with the funds I have available. I have to sell the C182 first according to my wife so I have to wait to return to Canada to do that. I am not sure but I don't think I can sell it in the US when the plane is already down here. Something to do with US customs. My flight time has been limited to C172's and mainly C182 which has a useful load of 1150 lbs. which I find about right for my needs.

Gary,

Welcome to BT.

I am a new to BT my self. I just became a Bonanza owner recently and I am loving it. I fully understand why Bonanza owners and pilots are so smitten by these babies. I am loving my Bonanza. I agree that one will never understand what a Bonanza is like until that person flies one. Anyway, in the short time I have been a member of BT, I have learned that fellow BTers are very kind and extremely helpful. I find myself spending way too much time at BT. If you have questions about Bonanzas, I guarantee you that there is an expert on that subject that will see your query and provide you with a great response.
So, welcome and good luck finding just the right Bonanza for your needs.

Wade

have fun in the search. A year ago I decided to sell my Archer and buy an A36 or an F33. Little did I know that there was a V35 out there waiting for me. They are all great planes. Have fun and fly safe.

Welcome aboard. Recently I watched a friend go through the transport Canada routine bringing a baron into CA. Has some hoops so a solid pre insection is important.

Good luck on the hunt.

You have a bigger market for the 182 in the U.S. (but I guess also a bigger pool of unsold aircraft). I bought an Arrow a number of years ago from a Canadian owner and the transition wasn't a big deal since I did it with the help of J.A. Air here in Chicago and they have experience dealing with this.

Thanks for the feed back, bring a US plane into Canada can be easy as long as there aren't a lot of field approvals on the plane. Field approvals are not allowed in Canada and any changes to certified aircraft have to be STC'd. Other than that it is quite easy just a little costly between $3000. to $7000. depending on the plane.
