Greetings,
I've been away from flying for about 32 years and would like to return to GA as a private pilot. I saw the sales presentation of the Red G36 and fell in love with the bird (same color as my Harley, lol). I did my pilot training at Embry Riddle 1975-77 (Comm/inst/ME/CFII). I left flying to attend college and flew a desk after that. I'm still flying desks for a living but recently I have felt the urge to return to GA and eventually pass the BFR for private instrument priveleges. It's as though the sky has been calling me back to flying lately - a love for which I have had since childhood. I am most impressed with the changes that have taken place with situational awareness in the cockpit. I was raised on VOR/ADF, pilotage/dead reckoning, and DME (if I was lucky). I'm looking foward to learning about all the changes that have taken place in the aviation world since 1978. I don't currently own an aircraft but I have made it my goal to own the G36 upon retirement which is several years down the road. However, it is never too early to get started on getting my proficiency back up to speed. Look forward to fellowship with y'all. Happy Landings, Tom Autrey

Welcome Tom. There are a few BT members in the Jax area. Be careful: if you hook up with one of them and take a ride in their Beech, you may be forced to buy one BEFORE retirement time...

Welcome to BT. If you hang around local airports, I sold my Piper Arrow to a guy from Jacksonville. Tail no is 7627D. Attachment: 3230002w.jpg

Means a lot to me. If you're looking for the "feel goods", somebody here will eventually bring you back to reality. Seriously, though, welcome to BT!

LOL Don. Its kind of like what I tell people that ask my I ride a Harley. My response: "if I had to explain, you wouldn't understand anyway." When you're away from flying for as long as I have been, you really start to miss it and get a warm/fuzzy feeling all over when you're welcomed back into the fold, but aside from all of that, I feel like I can get some real inside scoop on here that you cant read in a POH or a mag or any where else.
