New guy checking aboard. Found the website when looking for gouge on the Baron. Recently started flying one to remove a centerline thrust restriction. Great airplane. I look forward to learning all I can from other pilots here.

Welcome, Charles! You came to the right place. A helpful hint - fill out your profile information with location, airplane, etc. You'll see that most here have it.

Re: Center line thrust: T-2, T-37 or C-337?

OBTW, singles are better than twins. :duck:

Thanks Don. Good deductive reasoning. T-2 Buckeye.

Location fixed (Omaha NE). Renting the Baron, but am interested in Bonanza options down the road.

Ironically enough I just spent my first session reading through the twin vs single postings. Very interesting and spirited.

Haha little helpful advice. Avoid single/twin debate; its one of those unanswerable issues and never will be. Otherwise, welcome!

Charles,

My first squadron was VC-2. We had US-2s there along with T/A-4s. I got a NATOPS check as a 3P on the S-2 and the local FSDO said, "No, you gotta have a 2P to get the MEL unrestricted license. You have to be able to sign for the airplane." Right at the end of my tour, I convinced the CO to sign me off as a 2P. Then the FSDO said, "Nope. They just changed the rules - you gotta be an AC. You gotta be able to take passengers." I think I had that restriction on there for another 15 years.

I flew the B55 (T-42) at a Navy flying club. Terrible trainer, because it would kick your ass. Great trainer, because it would kick your ass. It just depended on who was flying.

Our aero-club has the T-42. I discovered how much of an ass kicker it can be on my first single engine ILS under the hood. Very enlightening.

Skyhawks forever! Loved that jet.
