Hi everyone;
Allow me to introduce myself; I am working for TFC at Duxford airfield (EGSU) here in the United Kingdom. In the fleet we have fifteen warbirds, including Staggerwing G-BRVE (6701), once owned by Dave Gilmour of Pink Floyd. This old lady also served with the Fleet Air Arm (Royal Navy) during the last few months of the war.
I've joined BeechTalk to make contact with other Staggerwing operators as we have found that there is not a lot of 'approved data' about, and we have been having difficulties with maintaining the aircraft in a way which is acceptable to the authorities here. One of the biggest hurdles has been that we have the only Staggerwing that is currently on the British register, so we're on our own as far as certification goes.
Mike at Gemco has been a real great help to us, as has Phil Nussbaum, and we are in regular contact with the Beech museum.
So, if anyone else has any good tips, access to parts or manuals, we're all ears!
All the best
Greg
