Larkin, she looks pretty. A couple of observations;

There is a fairing that goes around the nose gear on the lower cowling, I believe that it is availabe from the BAC guys at KLUX, Laurens County Airport, SC, for a reasonable price. It helps with cooling and adds at least 3/4 of a knot to your cruise, plus it looks a lot nicer.

When was the last time the gear donuts were replaced? I can't really tell due to the resolution of the pics, but the grease fitting on the gear arm where the donut stack attaches to the main gear should be entirely visible below the gear housing when sitting on the ramp.

I didn't realize your plane had the Demer tips. Keep sharing, we love plane porn.

Not sure what gear donuts you're referencing? I'll get you some close up's of the nose assembly and you can highlight what we're working on.Can you see about finding some picture or info. on the fairing you're discussing. I've already been looking at an STC for custom wheel pants as those wheel's just hanging have been bugging me.

i could only wish John, only wish. I'll get the wife to get some video's so you can see the ameteur view/camera from 43L soon. Just gotta finish up the inst. work and i'll get to use my approaches against Allen's to have something to work towards.

Larkin, the "donuts" are actually 8 or so very hard rubber shock discs that are the suspension system on your airplane as opposed to oleo struts or bungees.

The nose gear strut fairing looks like this although in this picture it is upside down;

Nice plane, it plays a lot with my mind bringing back good memories when I was a kid, my dad used to have an A23-24 Musketeer and was with that plane that I fell in love with the aviation world
