Huge thanks (I think) to Bo Harpur and Mike Caban for persuading me to purchase a 1974 E55 foxstar. Formerly N3003W and now reregistered as Canadian C-GNLS. And thank you to the folks on the forum who wrote in with advice. Had a great visit with the previous owner of 15 years when we picked the airplane up at Orange County and then a very uneventful flight up to Vancouver, BC. Everything worked. Numbers were spot on. And the performance with the IO550 conversion was pretty darned impressive. I feel like Rip Van Winkle as I haven't flown for 15 years and just starting to get used to 430/540 WAAS and all the other toys. Aircraft is undergoing import inspection right now and hoping to go flying again mid June. First big trip will be down to Cabo San Lucas to help out on a shark conservation program. Cheers. Hi Mike, Glad that all is going well so far with the new acquisition. I prefer to think that the Colemill Baron sold itself . I'm sure you'll be pleased with the Beech build quality and handling of the Baron and having 550 engines is just too sweet with 166 gallons to feed them from is just another thing to dance about! Cheers and Congrats again, Mike

There's no doubt that the E55 with IO-550s is a special machine. If . . . ahem . . . anyone else is looking for one that's quite well equipped . . . Just check on Peddler's Talk.

Mario Casanova BE 35B33 Hi Mario, Great to hear pireps like yours. They energize me to continue to keep the site content current and relevant to safe and affordable operations and care of our Beechcraft airplanes. Mike L: Very good to hear the import inspection is in the rear view mirror. Sure looks like you got a really great E55. Happy Skies to you both. Mike
