Like many others, I've benefited greatly from this forum while searching for the perfect bird and am now, I'm happy to say, the owner of her, a 1963 35-B33. Just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and say thanks to all those whose posts helped guide the way - I've been searching for/debating the right airplane for me for over a year and am excited to finally be done with that phase of the ownership process. She's at Joe Washburn's shop at KDWH this week getting miscellaneous little fixes done plus getting a set of BAS harnesses and Rosen visors installed - but I promise to post pictures as soon as I can get out there. Now if I can only find $10k under a rock somewhere to pay for that Aspen upgrade! The specs: '63 35-B33 ~4600 TT, 335 SMOH on IO-470K with Gami's, 2-blade Hartzell Top-Prop 530W, GTX330, KX155 with GS #2, Century IIb with STEC 30 altitude hold, Shadin FF, EI engine analyzer, PS Eng PMA8000SR

Glad to see another Texas Deb represented on BT. You should go ahead with the Aspen. You have all of the pieces to the puzzle so just go ahead and pull the trigger. We've had ours for a few months now and still can't get over how well it makes all of the other equipment work in harmony. Come on in, the water's fine

What did you use to affix the timer to the yoke? Thanks...that space age creation....Velcro from Walmart. We'll see if the adhesive will survive the heat of the summer.

Matt, Welcome! You should bring your new bird down to Hobby for our Beechcraft Day fly-in at the 1940 Air Terminal Museum on May 15. We'll feed you for free, and you can't throw a rock down there without hitting a talented photographer, who can help you silence all the "this thread is worthless without pictures" types. Drew PS - this thread is worthless without pictures

Don - Thanks! That was me on Friday - Gerry was nice enough to come out and give everything a last look over before I hit the switch. I'm going to get out there and take some pictures at some point this week - I generally work late and it's an hour to KDWH from downtown so that makes it pretty tough - but I've got these Rosens that came in the mail today so I've got to take them up there at some point. I'll be basing N433T at KAXH - at least for now. I'll be in the community hangar and am a bit nervous about the arrangement, but have been told the folks at KAXH are better than most when it comes to avoiding the dreaded hangar rash. I guess we'll see. KAXH isn't that convenient for me as I'll be usually coming from downtown or 59 & Kirby area but the only thing that is really more convenient is Hobby - and I don't think I can stomach the $400/month community hangar with no pull out service, plus I would imagine the delays can be lengthy at busy times - I've been in and out of KDAL a few times and have spent more time than I would like sitting in line on a taxiway behind an array of bizjets and B747s - 'caution wake turbulence' indeed! Stuart - nice setup! I'm planning on getting some time in 33T and then taking the plunge in a few months. Any suggestions on shops in/around Houston? I've heard there's a place in Conroe that is good/reasonable... Drew - Sounds great. I'm supposed to be out of town that weekend but perhaps I'll leave a little later... BTW, I met Gary out at Joe's last Friday. Great guy, enjoyed talking to him and checking out the Aerostar. Here are some photos from the ad to tide the crowd over:
