Hello Beech pilots. I currently own an N model Cessan 172 and will be test flying an N model 35 this saturday for purchase. This airplane appears to be a nice Bonanza with the 470N engine recently rebuilt. Of course I will have a thorough pre-buy performed; however, any comments or thoughts on the N model from experienced owners?

My airplane is currently based at New Hudson (Y47); however, I often charter out of PTK. My office is in Troy.

I still haven't tried 45G, but I remember your photos. IIRC you tackled that one with the 177 during winter.

Looking at the aerial shot of Y47 I can see what got me. The wooded area on the south side of the airport has a N-S clearing near the middle of the runway. A south wind was blowing through that clearing. I wasn't ready for it when it hit.

Ed,

You are correct about the gust point on the airport. About once a year or so an airplane leaves the runway at midfield and heads for the shrubbery. Having flown there for so long it is not a problem if you are ready for it. It does teach excellent cross wind technique.
