Hi All, I hang my hat in Huntsville Alabama and am currently without an aircraft. Oh so Long ago, I had ambitions of building a Cozy Mark IV...and then life happened. I also watched a good friend of mine get so close to finishing his Long EZ, after working on it over the last 18 years, and ultimately passing away this last Dec 28th without ever flying. I have rented forever, flown as an Air Force Flight Engineer on C-141s, and accomplished my Instrument and Commercial ratings. While I was scrtaching my head about building a Cozy Mark IV composite aircraft, a good friend from El Paso showed up with a Beech Bonanza K35 that he purchased at an unbelievable discount. It made me scratch my head a little more . I have LOVED Bonanzas forever and started looking and comparing. For the money I was ready to sink into a kit that did not have a lot of elbow room, I could be flying a Bonanza immediately. Not only that, but upon the wife's first inspection of a 35, nothing else seems to make the cut. So, we joined ABS and found a link to Plane Talk in the ABS technical section under helpful links and look forward to our future purchase. My mission here is to learn as we get ever closer to having our own keys and can step out to our own Bonanza. The goal as of today is a N or P model 35. If business gets better, we may step a little higher. There is no doubt that I will learn much from this group and appreciate any and all input in advance. Thanks for putting on this great Forum. Best Regards, Wil

Welcome William,
I too had aspiration of building a Cozy. Maybe even a Velocity. I am fascinated by the canard wing and thought that building my own plane would be great. I never had the chance to get started building and am thankful that I never took the plunge. I still think it would be a blast doing so, but as you so eloquently said, "life happens".
My first plane was, and still is, an A36. Solid traveling machine. No regrets thus far. You will learn a ton here.

John - congratulations on the 33!!! What happened to the A36?
Pictures or links of your new conquest? After much studying of the differences and evaluation of seats required and looking over my budget and comparing my budget, I decided to look at a F-33A. It didn't help when I flew it, I was hooked, probably have to start counseling soon. It does have 5 seats so it will fit my mission to haul grandkids if I watch the W/B closely. Note: I am from Texas Attachment: N6264B.jpg This looks even better in person - unbelieveable Attachment: N6264B_panel.jpg

John: That's just yummy! Pretty airplane. I love my F33A. The Vtails are great, and have a certain panache, but our little Debbies are an excellent way to Bo it. 4 seats works just fine.
Welcome, William. I'm down in Wetumpka, and if there is anything I can do to help you out in your quest to be a Bo owner, let me know.
Us Alabama guys gotta stick together!
Jim

I dont know Jim, Growing up in the South I immediately picked up that William said "Hi All," What is that? Down here we call it "Hi Yall". Better check him out closer. He could be a transplant to Red Stone Arsenal from the North. If he knows what Grits are then we love him. Doug

Doug: You are absolutely right. Being from California originally, I missed the subtle clue! Did I ever tell you about the first time I ate grits...after I joined the Army? Added butter, sugar and milk..."Oh, that isn't Creme of Wheat?" Only took a few years of therapy to get past the shame... And now I y'all with the best of them! I recently was giving a patient an induction dose of Propofol (which generally burns on injection) and I said: "This gone (long O) burn some..." I fgured that California would pull my passport. Which isn't a bad thing... Jim

HI,
I fly out of KMDQ in Huntsville. When you get a plane I suggest you look closely at that airport to keep it. I have an F33A that I love. If I can help you out in any way just let me know.
