Good Morning All,
Tom has suggested we all us our real names and OldBob is as real as it gets!
However, my given name and the one that shows on my certifcates is Robert W. Siegfried.
I am old! Born July 1, 1929.
Worked as a line boy at Mt Hawley Airport in Peoria, Illimois, where I soloed in May of 1946.
Enlisted in the USMC that fall and got my private license while based at Cherry Point MCAS, NC in the sping of 1947.
Back home and I finished my Commercial in the spring of 1948.
Off to the University of Illinois in 1948, took the Flight Instructor Course at the Institute of Aviation and received that certificate in the spring of 1949. Married my dear Thelma Jean that summer and we went back to the U of I. Time spent at the Institute of Aviation that year was divided between working as a Flight Instructor and getting the Instrument Rating. That happened in the spring of 1950.
Bob II came along that summer on my twenty-first birthday and I was hired by UAL in the spring of 1951 thus finishing successfully my five year plan to become an airline pilot.
Thirty-eight years later I retired and began my second life as OldBob.
Along the way I have managed to acquire multi-engine land and sea, single engine land and sea, ATP in many types of aircraft, helicopter, glider and free ballon ratings, an A&P certificate with IA priveleges, an abiding love of all things aeronautical, four more children, ten grand children and three great grand children.
We currently own a Boeing Stearman, Beech V35B, one third of a 550 powered hot rod J35 and half of a 150 HP Piper Pacer.
My apologies for providing more than anyone wants to know, but there it is!
Happy Skies, Old Bob Brookeridge Air Park, LL22 Downers Grove, Illinois

Hi Folks,
Larry Olson here. Jeff and Jeff, nice site and hope it's successful. Well laid out and looks easy to use, but need to know how to post pictures, and how to set up an Avitar. And not a ton of topics, great. Most forums have way too many topics which dilutes the quality.
Aviation started for me in college and I've been with it ever since, using it for many reasons. Used a plane in my printing businesses, did some corporate, charter and airline flying.
I've had several Beechcrafts (as well as brand P and C) and enjoyed every one of them. Currently I'm spending time in an older 550 powered B58 that does just fine.
Hope this forum provides an opportunity to share Beech experience, flying, maintenance and some social times.
And Jeff C, We'll have to swap lies about real estate, I've been dabbling it that for a while for fun and profit (and loss<g>).
Larryo

Hi Everyone,
I am a late comer to flying. I learned to fly 8 years ago, for my 40th birthday. I trained in the ol' C-152, then bought an Archer III for my instrument training. I then stepped up to my Bonanza, for my commercial and CFI training, but mostly to fly my family to our house in Maine. I keep my plane in central MA. I love owning my plane and having the freedom to fly wherever and whenever I want. I am in the process of upgrading my avionics, and in the end (which is any day now) I will have a Garmin 430W, MX20, Sandel 3500, JPI engine monitor, Skywatch, Stormscope, TCAS, WSI satellite weather, plus I kept most of the original avionics. As soon as I get it back, I will go for my CFI-I training.
I would like to attend a BPPP and the APS GAMI training. I have the GAMIs but haven't taken full advantage of them. I'm considering doing the online APS course.
Do you guys belong to the Bonanza Pilot societies? I haven't joined them.
See you around, Julie

Hi all,
I'm primarily an acro pilot these days with a hankering for a -58 model anti-gravity device. I'm getting plugged in here in hopes that some of the vast pre-existing knowledge on these birds might rub off on me before I start scratching this itch with wire transfers.
I'm a 1300+ hour PPL, ASELS, glider, instrument rated guy where 750 or so hours is in high performance, complex singles. We stopped traveling in 4 place singles when we no longer looked forward to being cramped up for hours at a time. Lately, we've been traveling in a Columbia, er Cessna 400 which is just a little too cramped for my wife and 2 year old to take many trips in. We're looking for greater load and some room for the 2 yo to rattle around and occasionally trips for 4 adults and the 2 yo. Trips are typically 150 - 800 miles and with the right machine, we'd probably put 200+ hours a year on it.
Anywho, here I am... Thanks for the Jeffs for putting this up.
Wes

Hi all. Sorry about the name...I kind of missed the suggestion of real names when I registered. So...my real name is Harold Carraher. Las Vegas, NV. Been flying for 51 years. Was in the aviation business back in the early 80's but decided to get out and make a living . Although my first love has always been aviation. I've flown/instructed in many/most GA aircraft over the years and many Beech Crafts of all models. Great airplanes. Although, my preference and loyalty has always been to Aerostars. I currently own/fly a 601p and hope you don't take offense at a AEST owner in your forum. I joined because Jeff posted about this forum in AOPA and I've always respected Jeff's posts so I imagine this will be a professional forum. And, maybe I can offer some useful information and AEST/Beech comparisons from time to time. Thanks for the opportunity to join. Harold

OK, my turn. Yuri, aka "luma" - 40 years old IT consultant, 450 hours, been flying for about 6 years. Got my Private while working on a project in Orlando, then my Instrument on a project in Minneapolis. As you can see, I like to mix business with pleasure Now a member of a large flying club in NY City area, based at HPN. We have two V-tail Bonanzas and one Debonair. Also a bunch of Pipers, but who cares about those, right? You can check out the planes here: http://www.wfc-hpn.org/index.htmlLooking forward to being a regular reader (and contributor) of this board.

Hello, children! (Hey, chef...) My name is Al. I've been flying on-again/off-again (more off than on) since 1996. I got my license the week before I went to college, didn't fly again for six years, picked it back up in 2004, knocked out my instrument, multi, Comm ASEL and Comm AMEL in about six months, and got a job as a copilot for a corporate op. Here's our trusty steed: ...which has been outfitted with the best Collins has to offer... It's a sweet gig, with only the occasional pre-dawn departure (I'm not much of a morning person). I fill in the gaps in salary by doing I.T. work for the company I fly for. It keeps food on the table and diapers on the child-to-be...
