Dear fellow pilots, I am Guillermo Rubino, a retired pilot from the Argentine Navy. Throughout my career in Naval Aviation, I flew C-45s, B-80s, B-200s, and T-34C1 Turbomentor.
Specifically, in May 1978, I was part of the first class of pilots to receive ground and flight instruction at the Beech Factory. After the formal acceptance of the first eight aircraft, we were responsible for their transport by air to the Punta Indio Naval Air Base.
Once in Punta Indio, we were in charge of training the pilots who flew the remaining seven aircraft. By the end of that year, 1978, we were deployed to Tierra del Fuego due to the Argentine- Chile dispute for the Picton, Nueva and Lenox Islands.
Back in 1979 I was transferred to a Mobile Logistics Support Squadron and in 1983 I returned to flying B-80s and B-200s in the Reconnaissance Squadron.

Welcome Guillermo! Mi nombre es guillermo tambien! Interesting history. I had a Argentinan retired general as a sim instructor for my Learjet type rating. Very tough and no excuses. Probably you experienced similar. Anyway, we’re all here to learn, fly safely and to have fun. Mucho gusto.

When you referred to B-80s are you talking about the Queen Air model? Yes, it was the Queen Air!

If it was a Learjet, for sure it was an Air Force Pilot.
