Hello fellow Beech Pilots and especially you KA sort:
I'm Darrel Slack. Former AF pilot that flew C-130s and KA B200s (C-12s) in the AF. In 2022 I attended the KA gathering in Tullahoma, TN, mostly to try and learn more about the many many things I'd need to know as KA owner. Well afterwards, I chickened out and instead of buying a KA, I bought a Cirrus SR22T. It's been great and fun and actually awesome training wheels for aircraft ownership. The consequences of ownership mistakes with a Cirrus are so much smaller than a KA.
But after a lot of fun flying in my little Cirrus, I think I'm now finally ready to start moving toward KA ownership. And in this realization, I'm wanting to explore the idea of finding a share of a KA rather than full ownership. Like maybe 1/2 - 1/4 share ownership in the Denver area, ideally at BJC. Maybe that's unrealistic, but I want to give it a shot.
I would love any advice or suggestions about how to think about finding and then joining or maybe even founding a partnership. I suspect there is a huge amount to know about aircraft partnerships and that like marriage, it's always at least a somewhat complicated and messy. But there are also usually best practices that you wise fellow pilot KA owners probably know a lot about.
So I welcome any and all advice, with much gratitude and thanks.
