Greetings Ladies and Gentleman, I bought into this plane 7 years ago. I’d mostly flown aerobatics before in a Pitts S-2B, and a Yak-55M. You can look me up on YouTube ‘Carl liepold’ if interested. Transitioning to the bonanza has been a learning experience. My first flight ever was in a Baron in Arizona with an FAA examiner at age 14! Omg I loved it. All I wanted was to become a fighter pilot. Then I got glasses. All life plans were dashed! Joined the Navy instead and drove the weapon system in submarines. 6 years later I got out, started my engineering career, got my pilot license and was introduced to Aerobatics in Chandler Arizona!!! Woohoo! I’ll never forget my first flight in a Pitts. After watching them do tail slides in Texas. I LOVE flying and aerobatics. The Bonanza is flying of a different sort. I’ve learned to love flying IFR flights and approaches, and have a very healthy respect for the weather. Oh I guess I learned to be old!!! Hahaha Learning to fly smoothly was the hardest part for me. And my favorite compliment is when my wife and daughter fall asleep in the back seat of every flight! In a future post I should tell you how we got a new IO 550 twice during COVID. Cheers, Carl

Haha:D Thanks Matt
I love the reflection of the snow on the glare shield while flying in to South Lake Tahoe for lunch. I hope you do too.

Welcome to the gang.
Like you, I find sleeping passengers to be the ultimate compliment. The combination of them trusting me enough to relax and me being smooth enough to lull them to sleep is a big ego boost to a pilot who is doing his best to give a good ride.

Hi Guys, Thanks for welcoming me! Yep that is a B2OSH hat. I was fortunate to fly in with Greg Blanck one year… It’s definitely a favorite! I don’t know why my location doesn’t show up. Im at San Carlos SQL. Happy flying!

Hey Carl I currently own and fly your old Yak55M out of Deer Valley. I’ve also recently bought a Baron 58. Flying straight and level is real pain. If you’re ever in Phoenix let me know.
