Welcome! I love flying around those mountains! I learned at KHTS and KHTW with a bit of XC across that gorgeous state and it’s neighbors! Work on your ratings and as you get more experienced, start your plane search. Spend some time with other pilots at fly-ins, and discuss trustworthiness across shops or A&Ps in the area. Find what speaks to you. Learn to work on them with an A&P assisting you. Oil changes and a wash can be a fun afternoon every 2-3 months.
At one point I was changing oil every month on the club plane during the spring and summer. Not so much in the winter…

Welcome to the group, and congrats on venturing into the world of flying. Aviation is one of the best groups of people I have ever come across.
