Hello all, My name is Alex. I am a former F/A-18 pilot and current dental student at UNC. I suppose I was looking for a little more adventure after 11 years of Navy flying. Outside of the Navy I've grown up flying with my dad in a Cherokee 180 and Mooney M20R Ovation. The only Beech time I have is a few hundred hours in the mighty T-34C during Navy primary training and later on as "low safe" pilot for our F/A-18 students. Flying the "dawg" (T-34C) is by far the most fun I have had in the air during my aviation career and it's been a goal to one day own a Beechcraft. My father and I recently made an offer on a 2005 A36 TN (N566C) after a quick demo flight and the offer was accepted! We are now in the pre-buy inspection phase and if all goes well we will soon join the ranks of this esteemed community. To say I am excited is an understatement! Can anyone guide me to a forum regarding pre-buy pitfalls or bonanza specifics for pre-buy inspection? I trust our A&P, but I am curious if there is anything in particular that troubles the bonanza community. Thank you for the guidance and I look forward to learning from you all soon, Alex

Welcome aboard, Shipmate. Jump over to the BT Forum Home page. You'll see a brief description for the intended use of each sub-forum. There's sometimes more info on the top of those page.

Beaufort is a lovely place to fly for lunch.
Also, don't neglect Howard's Pub in Ocracoke, another great coastal destination for the (few) hundred dollar hamburger.
If you ever make it to Burlington, give me a call, and I'll buy you lunch.

Welcome! … and in response to your pre-buy question, I believe American Bonanza Society has a brand-specific pre-buy checklist. Bonanza.org has loads of helpful info. BPT (separate org) is also a great resource. Their clinics include an inspection of your aircraft by experienced professionals. https://www.pbpt.org/weekend-clinincs/t ... ic-clinic/
