Several years ago we started taking care of a V35 for a private owner and because I have always loved Bonanzas, I became a member. If for no other reason that to follow and become more informed about the planes we take care of and in hopes of having a Bonanza one day. Now that we are in our 3rd year as a small maintenance shop we have worked on, and flown, a hive of these planes.

I now find myself working on a old 68 D33-35 that is being brought back to life for the owners grand son who is perusing a carrier in aviation. Unfortunately, the plane has not flown since 2003.

The IO-470J with very little hours on it has been allowed to rust away and our engine shops are estimating 7 to 9 months to get an overhaul done. One of their suggestions was to use ABS to see if anyone had an IO-470N or 520-BA engine that they would be willing to sell and perform a little upgrade.

I wanted to post to peddlers form but just reading posts infrequently has not allowed me to meet the minimum activity rules.

If anyone could help me out I would be very grateful.

Thank you,

Ted Morgan

I think it would be helpful if you told everyone where you are located. Good luck!

It would sure be nice if the forum software required an entry in the location block.

I know of a IO-520-F with about a dozen hours and a recent OH sitting in WV. That doesn’t do much good unless you have a shop that can convert it. It took them quite a few months to get the engine back.
