Hey Everyone! Happy to be joining the BeechTalk community :) I'm a recent college grad based out of Madison, WI (moving soon) and I got my private this July ('22). I just hit 100 hours, and as I look into getting more ratings and flying further, I'd love to learn about buying a Bonanza. I'm interesting in the older 35 models as they're more in my price-range, so I'd love to learn from all of your experiences saving up and buying an aircraft

You may want to build some more time before buying a complex airplane, because insurance will be expensive until you do. I think if you get your instrument rating it will help with that expense.

Mike Dodge can address this, he's on BeechTalk. Mike was my student a few years ago and purchased a very nice V-Tail while still a relatively low-time pilot.

Hey Gil! I'm working on my instrument rating now - I'm giving the written in Jan, but realistically I can get it mid-next year. I rent so as soon as I'm eligible to rent the Arrow, I'll probably do that to get more complex time.

Would love more insight into the insurance stuff if anyone's got experience with it!
