Aircraft: Baron B55
Hello BeachTalkers and Fellow Aviators,

My name is Tami - I am the owner of a Baron B55

When I was a little girl, my dad always had an airplane.
He had a Super Cub, with high wings and big bouncy wheels for bush camping adventures.

He had a Pitts Special for his aerobatic stage. He flew air shows in Reno and Oshkosh, and Maybe you heard about the little yellow and black that flew under the Golden Gate?

After that he had a 4 place Bonanza for many trips to Mexico.

He kept his airplanes at the San Carlos airport and flew helicopters for the San Mateo sheriffs department aero squadron.

In 1991 he bought a 1968 95-B55. Of course the plane was not fabulous then… Over the years he loved it, painted it, had LyCon install new engines, a gift from Chevron, and installed new leather upholstery.

Dad loved to fly high and fast, and what a pilot!
A few weeks ago, my dad fell asleep on the couch. He did not wake up.
My dads name is Art Weinschenk. Maybe you have met him? He is quite unforgettable.

My name is Tami - I am the very proud owner of a fabulous B-55.
I don’t fly.
I am here, by invitation of one of your members, telling you my story with hope of getting help from your community.

Hi Tami, very nice introduction about you and you dad Art. I’m sure you’ll see people chime in and help with your B55 Baron. Your dad was really a fun and great man.
Bob

Tami,

I just now came across your post, so forgive the delayed reply.

Your father was the third owner of N5J, a Pitts Special of which I am the present caretaker.

N5J was the first US aircraft to win a World Aerobatic Competition in 1970 with Mary Gaffaney as the owner/pilot. It was Mary who painted the aircraft in the yellow and black paint scheme that you recollected in your post to this group.

I would welcome any other stories you might care to share about your father's flying escapades in his old Pitts!

My condolences on the loss of your father,

John Bucher
