Hey guys,

Thought it was time to say hello, been a member for a long time, and this site has proven invaluable for info on Bonanzas and Barons.

Been flying since 84 but got out about 8 years ago.

Finally had the time to get another aircraft so marched out and got the ME rating and bought a Baron 58. So far it’s been a blast to fly around and get acquainted with the aircraft. It is very different than the Turbo Arrow had prior. The extra room and side doors are an amazing plus.

Currently flying out of French Valley Ca. (F70)

Thanks!

I'm a few months into my transition to my B58P from a Turbo Arrow myself. It's quite the step up, but so rewarding. Congrats!

Thanks Keith!

Good luck with your 58P, that is a very nice aircraft. The pressurization has to be a game changer.

After I get some hours built up in this Baron, may consider swapping to a 58P, don't know.

I always flew the Turbo arrow in the 10 to 12k range which is pretty much where you have to be to go anywhere on the west coast.

The Baron has no problem getting to those altitudes so have been using the same altitudes with this aircraft too. So far so good!

Yep The Turbo Arrow is happiest at around 15000, but I was usually too lazy to put on a cannula so 10-12000 was my norm too. The 58P however, unless its a short hop, it goes up to 20000 or higher depending on the wind. So far absolutely no regrets, she's a great bird. Still learning the glass panel though. The steam gauges on the Arrow didn't have as many places to look for info. The radar dish is gold just by itself. Good luck with yours too. Have fun.
