Good Morning, My name is Wayne and i am a A&P, IA in Santa Barbara CA. I have started to take care of Two Beech Barons. One is a 1977 58TC the other is a 1980 58P. i have just finished the annual on the 58TC which took on a life of its own and am starting on the 58P today. I was hoping to here some ideas or suggestions about the two aircraft so I may be better to assist my customer with his aircraft. If anybody has ideas suggestions or knowledge about these aircraft, please share. They are new to me so the more i can learn the better job i can do for my customer
One issue that came up on the 58TC was a AD for ECI cylinders. This aircraft had a RAM conversion with ECI cylinders and the hours had come about to change the cylinders. It was a big AD and the new owner had no idea it was coming up on his aircraft. It was very diffcult to tell a new owner and new customer his 12 cylinders needed to be changed but after careful research with FAA about the AD, talking to RAM support and lycon in Northern California, explaining to the customer was easier with all the right info. It did not change the fact the gentleman was about to spend alot of money but i feel he understood why it had to be done which made my customer / mechanic relationship better.
So again if anyone can share info or tips with me about the two types of aircraft, I will appreciate it very much. Thank you very much for your time. wayne
