Good morning everyone,

I am Arnold Sperling from Lincoln, MA (Hanscom Field KBED). I just sold my Piper Meridian after 16 years secondary to inability to get insurance; an age issue. I am, however, able to insure an F33Bonanza at a reasonable (5,000 dollars/year) price.

I will be asking for your help to determine how to find/build a state of the art F33 aircraft.

A bit of history. My wife and I have been flying for more than 50 years. Our daughter and son in law own and fly a Piper Meridian in Wilmington, NC. I am an FAA Senior AME and have been since 1976 with an office at Hanscom Field.I am a National Guard retired Flight Surgeon. I also teach flying; specifically limited to PA 46, TBM and Cessna 525.

We have a camp in Greenville, Maine (3B1) which is a 195 nm commute that we think is perfect for the F33. I look forward to getting to know that community and hope that we can make some positive contributions. My wife, Charmian, an English major, just published a scary little aviation article in the April, 2021 issue of AOPA which will give you a little look at an interesting experience.

Thank you for welcoming us.

Arnold

Hello and welcome Arnold. My brother has owned his F33A N18483 for well over a decade and knows very well the path you are considering. He is in the air now as I type, heading back to Stafford, VA. Send a PM to Kurt Larson, he can give you plenty of info. BTW - Kurt’s a recently retired orthopedic surgeon so you’ve got the medical field in common as well.

Great news, Arnold. You must have caught Kurt on a good day because he's usually pretty ornery.
