Well, I tried to retire from flying and sold the Baron and bought a Lamborghini.

The lambo just doesn't do it. So I'm selling the lambo and getting back into the aircraft owners market, (which looks likes a bad time to buy), but I'll start my search and research yet again............

I'm not sure in which direction I'll go as far as aircraft ownership. Another Baron? maybe. Or my dream aircraft, Commander 500B or S. Or what i was looking for such as a 340A or 414(A),or just a smaller single like a Lance or something. I have no mission that I can afford as my commutes for work are 1400nm. one way. No I can't afford a 441!

This dam flying drug is just too hard to over come......

Brenda

Brenda, don't stress about the plane market - you will make it up with the Lambo in this crazy used car market. Toughest thing is not the price, it will be the challenge finding something of quality that meets your needs. Good luck with the sale of the car and the purchase of your next sky machine. :pilot:

Brenda, don't compromise. Have both!

Best of luck airplane shopping and hope you do okay on your Lambo.

Trade in the LAMBO for a classic ALFA! Lots of fun and much less expensive!!!

How about one of the Super Cub variants? Various builders make some awesome, well-equipped taildraggers that could be a thrill to fly and get you back into aviation in a different and fun way.

Hello Brenda,

This 500B could be for sale. I don't think it is advertised as such, but you could call Brown Helicopter and ask them.

http://www.brownhelicopter.com

I ferried this aircraft from Oregon to Pensacola about two years ago for Brown Helicopter and they buy and resell aircraft as part of their business. The interior has been redone recently and its a great flying aircraft. Its worth a try to call if you are interested and you have nothing to lose if they say its not for sale. You can use my name if you want. The Brown's know me personally but I'm really just guessing about its availability.

I'm not the only one! I'm going to hold on to the Stearman for another year and then replace it with a 500S. I've flown the B-model, it's a really nice handling airplane. The only due diligence I'm going to do is fly an Aerostar at some point to compare.

I really like the narrow-deck, six cylinder Lycomings. I've thought the Shrikes were awesome ever since I was a little kid. Ramp presence.
