Hello fellow BTers, I have been a BT member since March 2011(according to my BT profile). I must have joined before I purchased my 1976 Piper Arrow II in 2011. At that time I felt that a Bonanza was way out of my league both technically as well as financially being a low time renter pilot and first time aircraft owner.
With that said, its about time I formally introduce myself. I am an instrument rated commercial pilot based in central CA (KTCY) with approx. 1300hrs of mostly complex/retract time in my Arrow.
Well, my Arrow is no longer mine as I sold it last month after owning it for almost 10years to the mark. Over that ten year period, other than flying for business, we used the plane for our family of four to fly to several vacation destinations over the western US as well as Mexico's Baja CA and Canada and several national parks (two to three every year). Children were 3 & 6 years old when I purchased the Arrow and they are both now HS teenagers and much heavier & taller. I also added ~20lbs. over that period that seems almost impossible to rid of.

Both teenagers are interested in flying and are currently taking lessons in our 1963 C172D that we picked up last year just for that purpose. 16yr. old boy just got his Private Glider and now waiting to turn 17 to take is power checkride. 13yr. old girl talks about flying jets while serving the country. Both talk about getting dropped off/picked up to/from the college when they are there in couple of years.

With this background, my wife and I are now looking for an upgrade and I have my heart set on adopting a Bonanza A36 so we can continue to fly and build memories as a family. I have researched the market and understand this would be quite a leap upgrading from a Piper product and am budgeting accordingly.

I find myself now lurking even more over here on BT spending time reading, researching and learning while watching the FS forum to gain more insight before taking the plunge. You may be seeing some questions from me in the near future in the appropriate forums, so please treat this newbie Bonanza enthusiast gently as i try to learn more.

PS: While I am looking to get my own Bonanza, a very generous hangar neighbor is letting me fly his very nicely appointed 1978 V35B.

Welcome Inderdeep. I am just over the hills in LVK. I am happy to show you my A36 and go flying if you want to get a feel for it. I upgraded from a '74 V35B and while it's not as light on the controls, it definitely is more comfortable for the passengers.

Thank you Yasho, that would be awesome. I may just take you up on your offer. This is how I met one of my good friends of 11years from KCCR while I was researching my piper purchase. Let me know what days do you normally fly or days good for you. I will PM you my phone number.
